A large part of my work is dealing with people, whether in a residential or commercial context, and so it is important that I can work with somebody closely to achieve their desired goals. If I was choosing somebody for a house extension or building survey for example then I would want to know what evidence that person had to show that they could be invaluable to a construction project!

Well, here is that evidence from a selection of my past projects –
A Building Survey for a Committee Run Building in Tetbury, Gloucestershire

The brief was to provide a condition report to enable the committee to make decisions around the viability of continuing to use a Grade II Listed Building for their various charitable activities.

    Project Involvement: Building Condition Survey

“After the visit had been completed, members of the committee were emailing me saying how thorough, informative and knowledgeable you were and asked me to thank you personally. The report was also easy to navigate and the selection of photos to back up the report will be invaluable in progressing towards our final decision. One other point raised regarding the report was how the report turnaround was undertaken by yourself.”

“We had budgeted for such a major piece of work as recommended by a contact and your pricing was extremely reasonable for the amount of work involved and such a well presented document”

“We as a committee would have no hesitation to recommend you to our contacts and associates. May we wish you all the very best and look forward to working with you on another project in the near future.”

Single Storey Extension to Grade II Listed Toll House, Purton, Swindon.

This property involved a single storey extension to the side of the existing Listed Building.

Project Involvement: Planning Permission, Listed Building Consent & Building Regulations Consent

“We were recommended by a friend of ours and we were very happy with the recommendation. Extending our Grade II Listed Toll House was never going to be easy but with the help of David the many changes required by the council didn’t turn into the headache that it could easily of done. The fees were reasonable and they were always prompt and professional with every request. The big question is would I use David again – and that’s a resounding yes. Thanks for making life so easy!”

Extensive Renovation and Single Storey Extension, Ross-On-Wye.

The works to this project are so large in scale that they have had to be phased. This involved major structural changes to the existing building, by removing the corner of the property, supporting the first floor level and roof above, and inserting large steel beams to be able to create a spacious and airy Kitchen/Dining Room.

Project Involvement: Planning Permission, Building Regulations Consent & Site Management

“David has advised us on every stage of our project including design drawings, obtaining planning permission, and monitoring of building works through to completion. The overall project cost was in excess of £250k and involved major structural works. He liaised very effectively with all parties including the local council, structural surveyors, building contractors, electrical contractors, joiners etc. We are particularly pleased with the final result to which David’s expertise and attention to detail were important contributing factors. We would have no hesitation in recommending him to other potential clients and indeed would expect to work with him again when we progress onto the next stage of our project.”
